Guide | How to Take the Practice GRE Test

Step 1: Create an Account on ETS.org (Official GRE website)

Visit the official GRE website and create an account by clicking on the link below:

https://ereg.ets.org/ereg/public/customer/create#/personal#top

Fill out the mandatory fields (starred questions). Make sure you carefully store your user name and password.

Step 2: Navigate to the GRE Page and Select “Prepare for the Test”

To access the official GRE practice test, you will need to visit the official GRE page by clicking on the link below:

https://www.ets.org/gre/test-takers/general-test/prepare/powerprep.html

Step 3: Scroll Down the Page and Select “POWERPREP”Online

Step 4: Log Into Your ETS Account

Once you click on POWERPREP Online, you will be taken to the login page if you are not already logged in. Use the username and password you created to log in.

Step 5: Scroll Down and Click “Shop for Test Preparation.”

Step 6: Select “PRACTICE TEST 1” and “Add to Cart.”

Once you have added Practice Test 1 to Cart, scroll down and click next.

Step 7: Submit Your Order

The practice tests are free – so you will not be asked to pay anything before submitting. Click submit.

Step 8: Go to “My Test Preparation and Services” to View the FREE GRE Practice Test

Click on the “My Test Preparation and Services” link to access the free GRE practice test.

Step 9: Take the POWERPREP Test Preview Tool and the Practice GRE Test

If you have no prior experience with the GRE, it is strongly recommended to take advantage of the POWERPREP Test Preview tool which provides guidance about the GRE Test. Once you are done with that, you can now dive into the actual practice test. For now, please make sure you are taking the Practice Test 1 (you will take the other practice tests later on).

Step 10: Complete the GRE Test and take a screenshot/image of your final results.  

The practice GRE test will be done fully online. Please follow the instructions carefully and make sure you adhere to the indicated time limits for each section. Set aside at least 3.5 hrs to complete the practice exam.

Once you complete the test, you will be able to see your results instantly. Please take a screenshot of those results and use it to apply for the 8B Admissions Bootcamp.
